What events led you to this career?

I grew up inspired by women who were very involved with the family finances: my mother, who ran a frugal household while saving for my parents’ travel-filled early retirement, and my grandmother, who took a small amount each year and invested it in stocks through her 90’s. I became an avid reader in college about personal finances, and started early implementing what I learned about retirement savings, investing, and minimizing debt. In 2017 I began taking official Financial Planning classes, which led me to achieve my goals of earning my Financial Planning Certificate, passing the CFP® certification examination, and becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. I have been a happy part of the Verisail Partners team since 2021.

What do you enjoy most about what you do?

I enjoy getting to know and to help people, and I recognize and appreciate that everyone has different priorities and goals. I’m a planner at heart, and like identifying ways to help people save money now as well as invest for a more secure future. I love our clients and enjoy the wonderful mentoring and support from the Verisail Partners team!

Family Info:

My husband and I are both Tar Heels, with two young adult children who are Florida Gators. Our daughter is in veterinary school and our son recently graduated from college.

What are your interests outside of work?

When the weather is nice, I love to be outside: bike riding, kayaking, hiking, swimming and gardening. I enjoy cooking and eating international and ethnic food. For over 6 years I have been both a volunteer financial counselor at a local food bank, and a volunteer tax preparer for retirees. My personal spending weakness is travel, which fortunately my husband enjoys too!
