I sense a collective sigh when summer rolls around each year. I used to think it was only from people with young kids who enjoy a break from the day to day routines, but I’m realizing it’s from most everyone I talk to!
There is something good about seasons and the natural flow of life. Spring tends to be a busy time of year: launching a new year, tax deadlines, kids sports, school schedules, work projects, meetings, etc. We tend to run at a fairly fast pace. We can only do this for so long if we want to pursue overall health. So, naturally, when summer hits, it’s good (maybe necessary) to take our foot off the gas!
It’s a good time for self care, travel, spending time with loved ones, adventures, or maybe just some peace and quiet!
As with most important areas of life, these things won’t happen without some intentionality. Over the past few weeks, my kids made their annual “Summer Bucket List” posters. I started thinking that I should have one too…so I made one! It’s full of practical things that will happen naturally, and it also includes some activities that will take some planning. In fact, I’m headed to North GA to go camping with my son today! It will be quality time with him, and I’ll get to check it off my list! 🙂
What do you need this summer? Can you be intentional and take one step towards making it happen? We’d love to hear from you!
