There is finally a crisp coolness to the air. Pumpkins are popping up in all the stores and soon little ghouls and goblins will be trick or treating on our streets. Ten foot tall skeletons have shown up in yards in my neighborhood, with haunting digital eyes that blink and follow you when you walk by. A neighbor’s dog saw this and was so terrified it spun around on his leash and ran out of his collar! Yet a statistic even more terrifying showed up in the media this week.
A study done by WalletHub* found that 46% of Americans are still paying off debt from last holiday season. Cue the haunted house screams! Our country is letting our purchases follow us around all year like a zombie…slowly encroaching, destroying our financial peace with each ghastly step.
