Last week, our very own, Melinda Setchell, got married! She will now go by the name Melinda Tyrrell and her new email is mtyrrell@verisail.com. Please congratulate her if you get the chance!
Melinda’s recent wedding and name change got me thinking about the various documents that may need to be updated. Here are a few of them:
- File for your marriage certificate- this is a crucial first step in changing your last name (and make sure to get several copies of your marriage certificate)
- Social Security Card
- Driver’s License
- Passport
- Global entry or TSA PreCheck
- Bank accounts
- Credit cards
- Update your insurance
- Mortgage and utility payments
- Other payments, including car loans and student loans
- Notify your work HR Department
- Email address
- Social media
- Any other autopay accounts (ie Netflix, Prime, Spotify, etc.)
- Loyalty programs (ie Airlines, Retail Stores, Grocery, etc.)
