Stephen Covey said “The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” I love this, and it’s been impacting my calendar for years!

At Verisail, we think it’s really important to be intentional about your work AND your life. If you simply “work to live” you may be dissatisfied at work, and we spend a lot of time at work!

If you only “live” by pursuing enjoyment, you’ll likely run out of purpose and money!

So, what’s the balance?

Here are some of my thoughts:

  1. Discover your wiring, strengths, and weaknesses to help you figure out what type of work best suits you. No job is perfect and even people who are passionate about what they do have days that feel like work!
  2. Pursue interests, passions, or hobbies outside of work. This encourages creativity and adds to a fulfilling life! Are you carving out time to do something you enjoy?
  3. Build your schedule around your core priorities. These usually include family, friends, experiences, giving back, etc.

No matter how old you are, it’s never too late to start living more intentionally!
