I was reading the financial news this afternoon. The headline said, “Dow Plunges 800, Worst Day of 2019.” For many investors, that headline will cause some anxiety. Ultimately, every year will have a “worst” day as well as a “best” day. Below is a list of the best and worst days since 2008. Despite all these “worst” days, the S&P 500 managed to grow from 1411 to 2840 over the last 11.5 years (12/31/2007 to 8/14/2019).

We believe that investors should not be swayed by headlines in the news or daily fluctuations in the stock market. Capital markets have historically rewarded investors who take a long term diversified approach*.
