20 Second Advisor: Intentional Summer

by | May 23, 2025 | Inspirational

Whether you have young kids like me or you’re retired, the summer season often brings a change of rhythm and, hopefully, a slower pace. Either way, it flies by, there are tons of distractions, and I’d like to be intentional with my time.

Here’s how I’m thinking about it:

  1. What are my priorities?
    • Solitude, working out, family time (collectively and one on one), house projects, work, and downtime
  2. What will a normal day look like and how will it flow? How can I schedule these priorities?
    • I have a rough plan for my “normal” summer days with certain hours blocked off for certain priorities
    • One of the most important aspects of this is putting my phone away and eliminating distractions!
  3. Stay flexible!
    • I don’t want to live and die by my summer schedule. It’s supposed to BRING me life not suck life away!
    • For example, if we decide to watch a family movie later in the evening, I can workout on my own a bit later than I was planning.

I’d like to look back on my summer and feel good about how I spent my time. What could that mean for you?
