Paying taxes is similar to the picture above…you either see dead fish or an incredible meal in the works! It’s all about perspective!

No one likes paying taxes, and I don’t recommend you pay a dollar more than you have to. BUT, let me offer 3 reasons we should change our perspective on them:

  1. We pay taxes to have the right to live in, arguably, the greatest country in the world. We are free to work, not work, move around, and control our lives to a certain extent. Not many people around the world can say this.
  2. Most Americans pay a relatively small % of their total income in taxes.
  3. Working and earning an income provides a significant source of satisfaction for most people. Let’s be thankful for that opportunity rather than focus on the downside (taxes) that come as a result.

How about ‘paying taxes means I had income’ which is a good thing

And relatively small amount??? Pay when I earn it, pay again when I take it out to use it…

      Taylor
Leave it to you to find a positive spin on Taxes!
Actually, I love the positive spin that you have so cleverly outlined , and you are right!

We have all been provided a gift by being able to live, work , and play in this country.
We should all be counting our blessings that we were lucky enough , to be able to pay those taxes, while living in this great US of A.

Lets make it a great day!

Small percentage? It doesn’t feel like that, but thanks for the article.

A fine perspective. But i still hate paying taxes and i do not get my monies worth. Now that i am done complaining the fact is we are indeed lucky to be in this country and working. I think the ultimate reflector is i can’t imagine a better place to live or work than this great country . . . so alas, i’ll pay my taxes.
