Last week, our very own, Melinda Setchell, got married! She will now go by the name Melinda Tyrrell and her new email is mtyrrell@verisail.com. Please congratulate her if you get the chance!

Melinda’s recent wedding and name change got me thinking about the various documents that may need to be updated. Here are a few of them:

  1. File for your marriage certificate- this is a crucial first step in changing your last name (and make sure to get several copies of your marriage certificate)
  2. Social Security Card
  3. Driver’s License
  4. Passport
  5. Global entry or TSA PreCheck
  6. Bank accounts
  7. Credit cards
  8. Update your insurance
  9. Mortgage and utility payments
  10. Other payments, including car loans and student loans
  11. Notify your work HR Department
  12. Email address
  13. Social media
  14. Any other autopay accounts (ie Netflix, Prime, Spotify, etc.)
  15. Loyalty programs (ie Airlines, Retail Stores, Grocery, etc.)
