AI is everywhere these days, and it’s becoming useful in all kinds of areas (I might even have it review this post!). But we still need to be careful not to believe everything it spits out.
A recent test of several AI tools found they were wrong or unable to answer correctly about 85% of the time when asked to perform certain investment management calculations. Now, these aren’t necessarily the same everyday questions you or I might ask, but it’s still a good reminder to proceed with caution.
AI platforms are very good at sounding confident, clear, and reasonable—which can make their answers feel more trustworthy than they actually are.
So let’s keep using AI as a helpful tool to manage our finances more effectively, while remembering it has limitations, especially when it comes to more complex issues.
