What events led you to this career?
I have been in the financial services industry for approximately twenty years and worked with several practices of a well-known financial planning firm for almost half of that time. The positions I had there never worked out the way I had hoped. A good friend at church introduced me to Thad Gilliam here at Verisail. Several conversations later I was given the opportunity to join the team here.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
Being able to help clients meet their goals and provide them with peace of mind about a topic that often brings much anxiety. The culture here is very different from anywhere I’ve ever been before. While we are all focused and driven, there is a peacefulness and calm that is obvious. It was the very first thing I noticed.
My wife, Shelley, who is an elementary school teacher, and I live in Sandy Springs. We met in Atlanta as she was attending graduate school in New Orleans when Katrina struck and chased her here. We are excited to be back in Atlanta after living in New Orleans for eight years.
What are your interests outside of work?
My wife and I are active in our church in multiple ministries. We also enjoy travel, both foreign and domestic, and exploring this ever-expanding city we call home. We love being outdoors to hike and camp. Food and cooking have long been combined passions of mine – I enjoy dining at restaurants from haute cuisine to holes in the wall and then coming home to recreate some of the dishes in my kitchen. I am also an avid reader and will frequently be reading multiple volumes simultaneously.
